Mohamed Ibrahim Egal and his Northern Delegation arrive in Mogadisho. 16,04,1960 for talks of union with Somalia.

Somaliland took independence from Britain on June 26 1960, while Somalia obtained independence from Italy on July 1st 1960. Both countries united on July 1st 1960. The union failed and Somaliland seceded from Somalia on May 18 1991.
