(Medeshi)- A news militia has been announced in Lasqoray of Sanaag region yesterday.
The militia consists of 300 men and is not politically aligned with any group according to the spokesperson. The militia is named "Gaadh Haye" or the vigilant.
"This is purely defensive force and does not affiliate with any political group. It has been formed to purely defend the rights of the people of the region and to enforce the laws such as revenue collection", the spokesperson said in a video circulated in the media. "We have created this militia because the government of Puntland has failed to secure the region", he continued.
