The first shipment of Khat from Kenya arrived in Hargiesa yesterday after conflict in Haawaday halted all Khat imports from Ethiopia.

Earlier rumours of khat poisoned by the Oromos quickly spread in the capital of Somaliland.
On the other side , 23 people have been hospitalized in Jigjiga after chewing poisoned Khat from Haawaday . Some have suffered serious liver damages and have internal bleeding symptoms. The government has warned the public to avoid eating Khat coming from the Oroma region as reportev in Jigjiga TV.
