The United Kingston has issued the following statement on the coming Somaliland presidential elections during International Democracy Day :
On International Day of Democracy, the UK continues to promote and recommit to the principles of democracy.
In Somaliland, one of the ways the UK is strengthening democracy is by providing technical support for the presidential elections in November, including a comprehensive and inclusive voter registration process.
The electoral voter registration covers all the regions of the country including the far eastern districts of Sool and Sanaag. The UK is also working with journalists on providing balanced election coverage, and with judges on the swift, fair and lawful resolution of any disputes arising from the electoral process
