(BBC) - Clashes between two of Ethiopia's largest ethnic groups - the Oromo and the Somali - have forced about one million people to leave their homes since 2015, the AFP news agency says, citing a UN report.
"Preliminary data from the latest round of the IOM (International Organization for Migration) Displacement Tracking Matrix conducted in November 2017 indicates that around 1 million persons have been displaced due to conflict along the Oromia-Somali regional border", says the document by the UN's Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The latest figures suggest that the conflict-related displacement in the area is more widespread than previously thought, AFP adds.
