The United Nations has hailed Ethiopia for its capability to register a steady growth despite the challenging factors in the country.
The United Nations launched the World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2017 report on Thursday at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa.
According to the report, Ethiopia remains one of the top ten economic performers in terms of real GDP growth in 2016.
The country has managed to achieve this in the face of a marked deceleration in real GDP growth rate in Africa and the world at large.
Ethiopia's economic leap is mainly driven by the huge government investment on infrastructure coupled with the growing role of the private sector, it was noted.
The report also pinpointed that East Africa is leading in economic growth on the continent.
